Arame has a slightly savoury, mild flavour and is therefore known as the ‘seaweed for beginners’. You can do all kinds of things with arame: it’s delicious in miso soups, salads, as a side dish or with soba or udon noodles. Arame grows in the wild in the protected Ise-Shima bay and is harvested by hand.
