Description
Bancha (番茶) is a type of Japanese green tea. It is harvested from the second flush of sencha between summer and autumn (the first flush is harvested for shincha.)
It can be found in a number of forms such as roasted, unroasted, smoked, matured or fermented for three years and even post-fermented.
It has lower caffeine, light but has a more subdued, gentle vegetal and creamy flavor.
For 1 serving:
Amount of tea leaves: 1 tsp (4g) (0.14oz)
Add 200ml (6.76oz) hot water 95℃ 80℃ – 85℃ (176℉- 185℉)
Steeping time: 50 seconds.
